Hey everyone!

I have spent part of today witting my 2nd article for Vitamin. Thanks a ton to Adam for the invite :)

I am writing about Firebolt, CMSs, and my experience through the whole project. I know some of you will be reading it, so I wanted to throw out this question to you: What do you want to know?

Leave me a comment with something you would like to know. It can be business related, CMS related, design or development related. It just has to tie in with the Firebolt project.

Thanks so much everyone!

Peace,
Drew

Paul West Jauregui Says,
The name, "Firebolt". What's the story with that? Long term goals for the project? Personal goals for the project?

btw: I know you said it would be released soon, any target date? Will you be available for contracts to take designs and integrate Firebolt's functionality (if so, let's talk).

Great work man.

Basil Says,
Ok even though I am still learning basic HTML and it will be some time till I use this, how does the layout of Firebolt benefit the designer and make working more efficient.

Thanks,

Josh H Says,
Hey Drew,

I'm really interested in other people's design and development process. Can you share some of that? In your process, what are you most proud of? By that I mean, what is your favorite part of your process and why does it work so well? What resources do you use to continue your education in both design and development? Lastly, what are your favorite tools and technologies to use?

Btw, can't wait for Firebolt!

Owen O'Brien Says,
Hey Drew, I've been following Firebolt for awhile now, looking forward to playing around with it. Here's some things I'd like to know about:

1. interface decisions you made while designing/developing the system,
2. what problems you encountered writing the code
3. what templating method you use (PHP code/Smarty etc)
4. whether or not there will be a module creator (similar to expression engine and symphony for quick CRUD modules)
5. what kind of access control for users (granular or group based)
6. what the Extension API will be like
7. which modules will be there 'out of the box'
8. will i be able to choose which text formatter I wish to use

I have many, many more questions but I'm guessing you wont even tell me about half of what I asked about :) I'll leave it there for now.

Cant wait to see it, screenshots look great, keep up the good work. All the best.

Michael Espinosa Says,
What technologies did you use to build Firebolt? Did you use a php framework? Is it MVC? Javascript framework? Does it have an api that people can develop modules with? I really enjoy your work, keep it up!

Bruce,

LOL! I love that movie!
Good news bro, I have already written a bunch for the article and both those questions are already answered in detail.
Thanks a ton for the comment!

Bruce Alrighty Says,
I would like to know what is your reason for building Firebolt? What features did you feel other CMS didn't have that you put into Firebolt?

Keep up the good work.
